THE CAKE, THE CAT AND A BIG SURPRISE
Last Friday it was my grandmother's birthday. It was raining outside, so the whole family was at home. Mum was making a big chocolate cake and I was helping her.
First, we put the cake on the kitchen table. Then Mum said, 'Watch the cake, please! Don't let the cat in!' and she went to answer the phone.
I was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor, reading a comic, when suddenly our cat, Momo, jumped onto the table. 'Stop!' I shouted, but it was too late. The cake fell on the floor. It was terrible!
When Mum came in, we both just stood there. In the end, Grandma laughed because Momo had chocolate on his nose, and we bought a new cake from the shop.
