Listening script — Liam and Max plan a party
Liam: Max, have you got a minute? We need to plan Ethan's party. His birthday is next week.
Max: I know! It's going to be a surprise party, right? So we have to keep it a secret. Don't tell him anything!
Liam: Of course not. OK, the invitations. I've written them on my computer, but I haven't printed them yet. My printer isn't working.
Max: No problem — leave it to me. I'll print them at my house tonight. Now, where can we have the party? Not at my place. Our garden's tiny — it's too small for twenty people.
Liam: I asked my mum and dad yesterday. They're happy to have it at our house. We've got a big living room.
Max: Great! What's your address again? I need it for the invitations.
Liam: 47 Gresham Road.
Max: How do you spell Gresham?
Liam: G-R-E-S-H-A-M. Gresham Road.
Max: And how can people get there? Some of them live quite far away.
Liam: They can come by car or by taxi, or they can take the number 23 bus. Not the 32 — that goes to the station. The 23 stops at the end of our road.
Max: OK. When is it? Friday?
Liam: No, Ethan has football practice on Friday. Let's say Saturday, at six o'clock in the evening.
Max: Saturday at six. Fine. Now, presents. I wanted to buy him a book, but he's got so many books! So I've bought him a computer game. What about you?
Liam: I've bought him a football shirt — his favourite team, of course.
Max: Perfect. What do the guests need to bring? Food?
Liam: No, my mum is making the food. Let's ask everyone to bring a funny hat — it's more fun. And a photo of them with Ethan. We can put all the photos on the wall.
Max: A funny hat and a photo. I'll write that on the bottom of the invitation. And in big letters: remember, it's a surprise!
Savollar: 1. Why haven't the invitations been printed yet? · 2. Why can't they have the party at Max's house? · 3. Which bus goes to Liam's road — the 23 or the 32? · 4. Why isn't the party on Friday? · 5. What has Max bought for Ethan, and why not a book?
