Listening script — the website meeting
Angela: OK, everyone, let’s start. Thanks for coming to our first meeting. No teachers today — it’s our website!
Tony: That’s right. And lots of pupils are reading it. My mum reads it too. She says it’s better than the old school magazine!
Tariq: It’s like a TV programme, but on the internet. People can read it at home, on the bus …
Angela: Great. So, the first thing on the list: what do you like on the website? Tony?
Tony: I love the welcome message. It’s short and friendly.
Paula: I like it too, but my favourite is the interview with Mr Jennings. His answers are really funny!
Tariq: Yes! And the photo of him on his bike! How old is he, do you think?
Paula: I don’t know. He looks about forty. But he’s got so much energy!
Angela: OK. Next month we need a new interview. Any ideas?
Tariq: What about the school cook? Everybody loves her soup. I’ll talk to her about doing an interview.
Angela: That’s a great idea, Tariq. Next thing: the school concert. When is it? Friday?
Paula: No, it’s on Thursday. Not Friday — Thursday! It starts at half past six in the main hall.
Angela: Who’s going to write about it?
Paula: I’ll do it. I’ll write a review of the concert for the «Interesting articles and reviews» section.
Angela: Thanks, Paula. And the sports page? We need some photos of the football matches.
Tony: Mr Bennett takes great photos, but he’s ill at the moment. He isn’t at school this week.
Angela: Oh no. Can you talk to him when he’s back?
Tony: Yes, of course. I’ll ask Mr Bennett for some photos on Monday.
Angela: Perfect. Thanks, everyone. See you next week!
